“Banzai!” A cry that caused great fear in allied troops during WW2.The Imperial Japanese army were adept in many forms of warfare, and the use of this battlecry was all part of their fierce battle tactics. They were excellent soldiers, with extraordinary will power and devotion to their country and to their Emperor.

They smashed the British Commonwealth and American forces in the early years of the war using devastating tactics that confounded the allied troops and who had no answer to the fast moving fanatical Japanese infantryman. They were well trained and suitably equipped for their campaigns, making up for a paucity of heavy weapons with dash and raw courage that was alien to their foes. As with most armies the sections used the light and medium machine guns to lay down suppressive fire whilst their rifle armed comrades covered the gun, fed them ammunition before outflanking and then charging a rattled opponent.

They made good use of the small mortars to shake up the enemy before closing in with deadly long bayonets fixed to their Arisaka rifles.

By the war’s end they were a battered, shattered army, with few supplies and terrible casualties. Their reputation for bravery was legendary, as was sadly their appalling record of civilian and military atrocities which will always be associated with the amazing resilience and skill of the Japanese soldier.

Sono passate quasi due settimane da quando ho deciso di dare vita a questo blog. Ho notato che ci sono stati contatti e che forse quel poco di pubblicità tra conoscenti e online è servita a qualcosa.

Ora chiedo a voi lettori, siete soddisfatti? I post che ho segnalato vi sono stati utili? Avete conosciuto per la prima volta miniature o case produttrici a voi precedentemente sconosciute?

Vorrei insomma capire se il mio sforzo serve a qualcuno oppure no, e se valga la pena continuare.

The Rapier Armoured Carrier is an ancient device, one of many such technological relics of the dawning days of Mankind’s stellar empire; a bulky, armoured track unit which mounts a powerful antomantic reactor. The Rapier is often armed with a powerful quad lascannon known as a laser destroyer. This has become synonymous with the Rapier Armoured Carrier itself, and the Graia Pattern Rapier Laser Destroyer is perhaps the most common design of this potent anti-tank weapon.

Full resin kit, model  designed by Will Hayes,  which includes parts to build optional Cadian crew, and can be used in several different armies. You can download experimental rules for the Rapier Laser Destroyer here.

The Contemptor Pattern twin linked Autocannon allows the Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought to be armed with potent multi purpose weaponry. Can be used as a right or left arm. Model designed by Will Hayes.

Very little is understood about the Harook; they are unpredictable and have an unknown agenda. Although they have an affinity to other avian species of alien life, it would appear that they have disdain for all others, especially humanity. Their speech patterns, consisting of a complex series of squawks and screeches, do not seem to live up to the advanced technology they bear on the battlefield. This leads some to believe that an advanced, as of yet unknown, intelligence directs them. 

These avian aliens come with 10 unique poses to a pack and stand slightly taller than the average human.  The models were sculpted by Pedro Navaro and painted by Spacejacker. Check 'em out HERE.

At the heart of the Rorke’s Drift set are the two main buildings – the storehouse and the hospital. These laser-cut wooden buildings have been designed and manufactured by our old pals at 4Ground. Each building is capped off with laser-cut ‘teddy bear fur’ which acts as thatch for the roof. The interior of each building is fully realised and even has wall sections that pop out to simulate firing positions broken down walls, etc. The roofs and upper floors lift out giving you total access to the building interiors.  We’ve drawn on some of the most noted experts in the world in researching this set and what you have in the box is the definitive Rorke’s Drift!

Also included are several finely sculpted resin barricades. These are a mixture of biscuit boxes and mealie-bags and again we’ve drawn on eye-witness accounts and expert opinion to ensure we bring you an historically accurate rendition of the battlefield. A focal point of the defence were the barricaded wagons and we include this in the set also. The final resin components provide you with the stone wall Kraal.

Of course, you’ll need miniatures to fight over this amazing terrain and we include 20 of our brand new plastic multi-pose British Line Infantry and 40 of our new plastic multi-pose Married Zulu figures. The British are led by historical representations of the legendary Chard, Bromhead, Bourne and Hook whilst their Zulu counterparts are led by a mounted InDuna and there is also a metal Zulu wearing a looted British redcoat and firing a Martini-Henry rifle! The metal figures are all supplied by Empress Miniatures.

The ancient and venerable Land Raider has served the Adeptus Astartes since its earliest beginnings, and many variants and patterns are recorded in the data-stacks of Mars. Adepts of the hallowed Adeptus Mechanicus collectively refer to the oldest of these as the ‘Proteus’ patterns, and examples of these mighty armoured vehicles that survive into the dark days of the 41st Millennium are held in the highest regard, war-relics beyond compare to the Chapters that possess them.

Believed by certain war-savants to be an example of sacred machine-evolution, the Land Raider Armoured Proteus displays early features of the MkIIb Land Raider, enclosing its twin-linked lascannons in bulky armoured sponsons and adding to this formidable anti-armour firepower with a limited traverse twin-linked heavy bolter recessed into the forward hull armour.
